COMMERCIAL ASPHALT PAVING

Ruston Paving doesn’t normally pave residential driveways; but, for this house, we made an exception! Our crews were contracted to mill the top 2” of asphalt and overlay the White House’s North Grounds Driveway with a new asphalt surface course in our nation’s capital. The project was a great success but also challenging due to the security, logistics and tight one week schedule.

Crews from our Northern NY Division were tasked with completing a small amount of milling and asphalt paving at the Gateway Plaza in Ogdensburg, NY. Our client was impressed with our attention to safety and quality. Because of the fantastic results of the initial project, we were asked to come back the following year and repair a major section of the plaza.

Ruston Paving was under contract to reconstruct eight tennis courts on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. After encountering unsuitable soils and unprecedented rains during the construction process, we elected to introduce the soil stabilization process, which helped us right the ship and halt further delays on the project.

Crews from our Richmond VA Division were contracted to mill and pave multiple parking lots across this large office complex in Henrico, VA. The customer was impressed with our attention to detail and our ability to phase the projects to accommodate tenant parking, so we were asked to come back the following year to complete two additional parking lots.

Ruston Paving crews from our Durham division worked diligently on a 5-phase reconstruction project at Glenwood Square Shopping Center. Due to the shopping center’s high traffic volume, we were unable to work or have any lots closed down on the weekend. We were able to use a combination of construction processes to renovate the center.

Ruston Paving was asked to bid on the job as we had completed several other projects for the general contractor in the past. Our crews were tasked with fine grading the subbase and installing the two lifts of asphalt per the design specifications. The biggest challenge our crews faced was completing the work with all the other building construction equipment and crews on-site.

Graham Construction was the general contractor that was tasked to build the new Costco Wholesale store in Rochester, NY. Because the soil was unstable, Graham was having difficulty meeting their production schedule due to the building pad being too soft. Graham approached Ruston Paving and asked if our soil stabilization process could solve the problem.

Ruston Paving mobilized its Durham crews to reconstruct the parking areas at University Commons, a newly renovated apartment community located within minutes of Duke University. Years ago, a concrete surface was placed over unsuitable subbase. Ruston Paving develop a plan of action that would remove both the asphalt overlay along with the concrete layer.
