Why Choose Asphalt?

Asphalt is the preferred material for driveways, parking lots, and roadways due to its exceptional strength, low maintenance requirements, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Our paving process begins with a thorough evaluation of the existing or new base stone to ensure it is strong, properly compacted, and graded correctly. Utilizing state-of-the-art asphalt pavers and vibratory rollers, our highly trained operators ensure a seamless installation.

Our Asphalt Paving Services

New Construction

Our paving crews begin by excavating and removing existing materials, whether grass, dirt, concrete, or old asphalt, to the specified design depth. We then install a crushed aggregate base course, compacted in lifts to meet precise design elevations based on traffic flow, vehicle types, and local soil conditions. Finally, we pave the asphalt to the compacted thickness outlined in your proposal.

Remove and Replace

When the existing pavement has deteriorated, we can remove it down to the stone layer. Our team will then regrade the subbase for optimal drainage and compact it in preparation for the new asphalt installation, ensuring long-lasting results.

Mill and Resurface

Our milling service can restore its integrity if your pavement shows signs of wear but is still structurally sound. We remove the top layer of asphalt, profile the surface for proper drainage, and apply a tack coat before laying down a new asphalt layer, effectively revitalizing your surface.

Excavation & Grading

A building cannot stand the test of time without a strong, sturdy foundation. A parking lot or roadway is no different. Unsuitable soil must first be removed or modified so as not to undermine the structural integrity of the subbase. The placement of crushed aggregate in pre-determined lifts will allow the proper compaction of the stone. The advantage of using crushed stone is that the material will in essence “lock together”. A precisely fine-graded and compacted stone base assures the asphalt layer will drain as designed and provide a durable wearing surface.

Grading is an essential component of the excavation process. We ensure that the surface is sloped appropriately to facilitate water runoff, preventing pooling and reducing the risk of erosion. Our skilled operators utilize advanced grading equipment to achieve precise elevations, which is critical for:

  • Effective Drainage: Proper grading directs rainwater away from the asphalt surface, protecting the subbase from saturation and damage.
  • Surface Integrity: A well-graded base reduces the likelihood of surface cracking and buckling by minimizing moisture intrusion and freeze-thaw cycles.

Storm Water Management Services

Rain, snow, ice, freeze-thaw cycles can wreak havoc on your parking lot. These conditions can create potholes, water backups, collapsed catch basins, and damaged pavement, which can all be the result of water undermining your asphalt pavement. Managing water properly on your parking lot is the most important ingredient for preserving your lot.

Storm Water Drainage System

This process reduces pavement damage by collecting water under your pavement and directing it to a catch basin, or safely out of the pavement structure, rather than it collecting and saturating the soils beneath the pavement.

Catch Basin Repair

This will keep water from getting into the pavement section and creating soft, water-saturated soils that can destroy the pavement. We're experienced with PVC, corrugated plastic and concrete piping and can reconstruct or remove & replace your catch basin.

Emergency Asphalt Breaks

Emergency Breaks can be a nightmare. We're available whenever you need us to handle them and get everything back to a clean, paved surface.

Frequently Asked Asphalt Paving Questions

Asphalt pavement can last 10 to 20 years with proper installation and regular maintenance.

It’s recommended to seal your asphalt every 2 to 3 years to protect against weather damage and prolong its lifespan.

The cost of asphalt paving depends on several factors, including project size, design complexity, site conditions, and local material prices.

Yes, asphalt can be laid in colder temperatures, but it requires special considerations and techniques to ensure proper adhesion and curing.

Regular maintenance includes filling cracks, sealing surfaces, and ensuring proper drainage to prevent water from undermining the pavement.
