Mark followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps. In high school, while working on Ruston Paving’s field crews, he gained appreciation for the business and the hard work required to be successful. Continuing to work for the company while attending Clarkson University, Mark completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Management. Mark guided Ruston Paving’s growth into North Carolina. While earning his MBA at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Kenan-Flagler Business School, an office was opened in Durham, which has led to further geographic expansion in NC and VA. Since Don Clark became president, Mark has been the CEO of Ruston Paving, which allows him to focus on the strategic direction of the business.

Don grew up with Mark Ruston in Central New York, and they both started working for Ruston Paving when they were teenagers. Like Mark, Don cut his teeth with the company by working on a paving crew when he was younger and moved through the management ranks as the years progressed. As our president and COO, he provides day-to-day leadership and is involved with all facets of the company.

Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Clarkson University and began his career as the controller for a large industrial engineering company. In 1998, Kevin joined Ruston Paving as our controller, where he played a pivotal role in managing the company's financial operations. As our CFO, his leadership and financial acumen has helped guide the company’s growth and success over the years.

While attending Clarkson University to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree for a double major in civil and mechanical engineering, Lang worked with Mark Ruston and Don Clark at Ruston Paving as the company’s very first intern. Following graduation, Lang continued his career in construction management while working for a large general building contractor in Somerset, NJ near where he grew up. In 1994, Lang returned to his passion for specialty contracting with Ruston Paving when he expanded the company west into the Rochester, NY market. His experience with this growth has helped to guide the company’s expansion into our current markets. Today as vice president, Lang continues to provide ongoing leadership and corporate over-site for the strategic advancement of Ruston Paving into the future.

After graduating from Le Moyne College with his MBA in 2015, Garrett joined a public accounting firm in Syracuse, NY. While working in the firm's audit department, he earned his CPA. In 2021, Garrett joined the Ruston Paving team as our controller and is involved in a broad spectrum of company facets, including accounting but also data analysis, risk management and process improvement to assist with ongoing growth of the company.

Nicole currently holds an M.S. in Management and an M.B.A. from St. Joseph’s College, NY. In 2020, she brought her years of employee relations and human resources experience to the Ruston Paving team. Nicole has fully embraced her role as the HR function for our company and continues to play a key role in the future success of Ruston Paving.

Al graduated from Clarkson University with a degree in mechanical engineering and initially began his career in the energy industry. In 1990, he transitioned to the construction sector, joining Ruston Paving as the superintendent in our Syracuse Division. After a shift in Ruston Paving’s safety culture, Al became the company’s safety director where he oversees all aspects of workplace safety and employee training within the company.

Justin joined the Ruston Paving family in 2011 as the shop foreman in our Raleigh/Durham division. Before that, he was the shop foreman for a large site contractor. Justin works closely with all the Ruston Paving mechanics to teach, troubleshoot and offer solutions to problems that arise, which keeps our fleet of equipment operating at peak performance.

Todd graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008 with a degree in Information Technology and promptly joined the Ruston Paving team that same year as our IT Manager. Todd heads up our technology initiatives, whether it's integrating 3rd party systems or developing bespoke solutions in-house. Finding new and innovative ways to utilize technology is one of the key strategies Ruston Paving uses to stay on the cutting edge.

Don received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University and a commission in the US Army. After his military service, he began working in the construction industry where he also received his MBA from Syracuse University. After years of working with Ruston Paving as a material supplier, Don joined the Ruston Paving team in 2001 to help the company grow, which he continues to do through his marketing and business development efforts.
