Ruston Paving's Syracuse division's last project of the 2011 season was a parking lot expansion at Widewaters Business Park. This portion of the job was phase 1 of 3. The parking lot needed some additional parking spaces. Our crews excavated the area and relocated the granite curbing. Because all of central New York's blacktop plants were closed for the winter, it was decided to have our crews place and compact stone that would be flush with the existing parking area, which would allow for adequate snowplowing. In the spring, we'll be back to remove the top 3" of stone and replace it with hot mix asphalt. The John Lynch Company, who manages the property, was pleased at the efficiency of our crews that allowed for the project's completion before snow blanketed the area.
