Old Dominion Freight Line, a nationwide shipping company, was expanding its commercial truck and employee parking lots. Initially D.F. Chase, the general contractor on the job, was soliciting bids to install some thick, heavy duty lifts of stone and asphalt to carry the load of the trucking fleet. However, we were able to save Old Dominion money by proposing to stabilize the subbase with Portland cement increasing the overall structural capacity of the pavement section and enabling a cost savings on asphalt.
