Tennis Club of Rochester Renovates Six of its Clay Courts
After many years of planning, the Tennis Club of Rochester (TCR), located in Pittsford, New York, has proceeded with renovations to six of its existing clay courts to make them more spacious and maintenance free. Ruston Paving began working with TCR in 2008 to provide budget pricing for the project. After some revisions in design and layout, TCR began the project this spring following the removal of the "bubble" that covers the court allowing play during the winter months. The construction expanded the area by approximately 7 feet providing additional spacing between the courts. We have been contracted to remove the existing clay surface and replace it with a new 3.5" asphalt hard surface prior to the installation of the new ClayTec clay tennis court system. ClayTech produced by HarTru is a hybrid that provides the maintenance free benefits of a hard court system with the safety and playability associated with a clay court. In order to achieve the critical grades required for the project, we utilized precise laser guided machine control electronics installed on our grader.
