Now that the new Lake Townsend Dam is nearly complete, Ruston Paving is beginning to install a new stone access road to and across the dam. It has been a three year project to rebuild the dam. The original 44-year old concrete gated spillway is suffering from severe deterioration due to a nasty sort of chemical decomposition that has infected the dam’s concrete, the major bulwark holding back the billions of gallons of water in Greensboro’s largest reservoir. Ruston Paving's work on the project was not going unnoticed as several bystanders were overheard exclaiming, "This is the best dam access road I've ever seen."
