Carrier Corporation located in Syracuse, NY is the world leader in air conditioners, furnaces, HVAC and central air conditioning products. When Willis Carrier invented the first system for “manufactured weather” in 1902, he sparked an industry that revolutionized the way in which we live, work and play. Recently, the Carrier Corporation needed to consolidate some parking areas and contracted with Ruston Paving to construct this unusual project. One of their buildings was recently demolished leaving only the original concrete floor slab. This slab was then used to support the new parking area. Our Syracuse division's grading crews created a drainage system by installing new catch basins and storm lines through the remaining concrete floor. Then, crushed stone was placed over the entire area to provide adequate surface drainage. Once completed, Mark Piraino's crew (pictured to the left) paved over this entire area. Great work guys!
