Altec, a leading provider of products and services to the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, lights and signs, and contractor markets, needed to reconstruct the yard space of its Creedmoor facility.
Because of the size and weight of its product inventory, Altec had initially specified a new stone and heavy-duty layers of asphalt for the parking areas. Based on our experience and laboratory testing, we suggested using the Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) process with Portland cement as a stabilizing agent. This produced a stronger subbase that allowed for less asphalt to be used, which translated to a tremendous cost savings to Altec.
